Role & Responsibilities:
- Monitoring alerts from various technologies to identify potential security incidents impacting Verizon’s networks and information systems.
- Utilizing a range of security tools to conduct basic analyses of alerts and events.
- Following established procedures to assess the security impact of alerts, ensuring proper escalation to team members and leadership.
- Adhering to defined Threat Monitoring workflows.
- Documenting your findings in a ticketing system to facilitate seamless communication and escalation to senior team members.
This role places you at the heart of Verizon’s Threat Management Center, where you’ll not only be responding to cyber incidents but also contributing to the ongoing advancement of security intelligence and capabilities!
Qualifications & Skills:
- A Bachelor’s degree, or one or more years of relevant work experience in a related field.
- A willingness to participate in shift work as needed by the business.
- Experience or internships related to Security Operations Centers (SOC) or threat monitoring are highly regarded!
- Robust technical knowledge of cyber risks and threats stemming from cyber-attacks.
- Understanding of security infrastructure, including firewalls, anti-malware, and proxies.
- Strong communication and presentation skills essential for collaboration across teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications like Network+, Security+, or CCNA are a plus!
